Histamine Clearance Index · GI-MAP · StoolOMX
A patient with a 20+ year history of chronic gastrointestinal symptoms and more recent manifestations of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. Using the Histamine Clearance Index™ alongside GI-MAP™ and StoolOMX™ testing, we’ll explore the interplay between MCAS, Candida overgrowth, gut dysbiosis, intestinal inflammation, and histamine metabolism.

Learning objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Describe the clinical utility of the Histamine Clearance Index as an assessment of histamine clearance and DAO activity
Identify potential contributors to impaired histamine metabolism, including Candida overgrowth, gut dysbiosis, and intestinal inflammation
Interpret GI-MAP and StoolOMX findings in the context of MCAS and chronic GI symptoms
Explore how medications, diet, and lifestyle factors may influence histamine clearance and symptom presentation

About this session
Join us for an in-depth clinical case review featuring a patient with a 20+ year history of chronic gastrointestinal symptoms and more recent manifestations of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). This educational session will highlight the Histamine Clearance Index™ (HCI), a blood-based assessment designed to evaluate histamine clearance and provide insight into diamine oxidase (DAO) activity.
Using a comprehensive laboratory approach that combines the HCI with GI-MAP™ and StoolOMX™ testing, we will explore the complex interplay between MCAS, Candida overgrowth, gut dysbiosis, intestinal inflammation, and histamine metabolism.
Attendees will examine how microbial imbalances, medications, diet, and lifestyle factors may influence histamine clearance and contribute to chronic symptom patterns.
